Elections. Are we under a false sense of security? Have we convinced ourselves that electoral fraud can never happen? If that is the case, then we have deceived ourselves greatly. As long as there are crooked and sinful humans walking this planet, there will be electoral fraud perpetrated on the general populace by those who are greedy and have evil intentions.
It would be useless to try to eliminate, right? That’s where we are all wrong. We must strive to do our best to eliminate as much fraud as possible. Why? We owe it to our nation’s future. We cannot think only of ourselves. We must think of the future generations of our nation. What will our great-great-grandchildren think of us if we lose the American way of life? If we trade the dream for a nightmare?
Where do we start? How do we fix this? Is there really anything that can be done? These questions are answerable. The odds are not as insurmountable as they first appear. The real question is, how badly do you want this corrected? Do you want it bad enough to get involved in the solutions yourself?
One of the best places to start helping to correct this issue is to get involved in your local area. No, this does not mean that you have to be the one running for public office. It does mean that you need to get involved with your local elections board. Volunteer your time to help make sure voter rolls are clean. Help out at voting time by being a pole observer. Don’t just sit by and let the bad guys continue to run amuck. When we get this stopped at the local levels, it cannot continue at the national levels.
This is a good way to start fixing the fraud. We also have to push our legislators into enacting legislation that will help to correct the fraud in a more long term way. One of these measures is to institute term limits for all levels of dully elected government officials. These jobs were not meant to be permanent or semi-permanent positions for just one person or just one family.
These are a few things that can and should be done by The People. Remember, we are made up of a government that is supposed to be Of The People, By The People and For The People. This means that We The People need to get involved and stay involved in what those we elect are doing on our behalf. It is part of being a good citizen. This is civics.
If you are a teacher, this may be the best way that you can help. Civics is dying out. We need a revival of teaching this at all levels in education and from the proper perspective. This is done by teaching that being involved in government is a civic duty. This has nothing to do with any political party whatsoever. This has to do with teaching people what their responsibilities as citizens truly are. Most people do not know or have gotten complacent and do not care. This needs to change. Be the one that sparks that change.
There is a lot to do. This cannot be done by one person alone. That is why we need everyone to get involved however they can. I realize not everyone has a lot of extra time; however, this is definitely an endeavor where the time will be well spent.
Over the course of the next few days (possibly a couple of weeks) I will bring to light the types of electoral fraud. I will discuss how prevalent it has become (based on prosecuted cases nationwide) and make suggestions on how we, as a nation, can go about helping to correct these issues.
